Dance Teacher
“I grew up dancing in FNQ from the age of 3. I spent as much time at our local dance school as I did at school. I lived for Dance!
I completed the highest level in Tap, Modern (it was just modern at the time – now it’s split into Jazz, lyrical etc), and completed Adv 2 in RAD Ballet. I also completed Intermediate Major (Teacher) examinations in Modern and Tap.
After leaving high school I trained at DLDC (Davidia Lind Dance Centre) in Brisbane, completing Cert IV in Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance.
I worked a few casual gigs as a professional dancer in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, before landing my first contract as a cast member with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I travelled around the world performing in shows onboard multiple RCCL cruise liners for the next few years, choreographing routines in FNQ for previous teachers in between contracts, before becoming a Mum.
I continued to take classes and eventually began to teach. I absolutely loved working with the kids, the tiny tots and the teenagers at Rose Studio.
Eventually I had to give this up, as we moved interstate and I had 2 more babies I was now at home with full time.
I couldn’t be more excited to get back into a studio now and teach the preschoolers for HUDS! They’re an absolute joy and I look forward to helping them grow in confidence, grow their dance skills, nurturing their enjoyment they get when they’re at dance and encouraging them to be part of our team of friends at the school.”
